3D printing for medium-sized businesses: Free support for SME

LZH/IPH | Manufacturing individual products at almost the prices of mass products – using 3D printers. The Lower Saxony Center for Additive Manufacturing offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) free-of-charge support for the introduction of the new technology.

What are the opportunities of additive manufacturing – and how can 3D printers be integrated in existing production processes? The goal of the center is to make companies in Lower Saxony pioneers of 3D printing. Because additive manufacturing will radically change the production technology: in the future, replacement parts, sports shoes and even hearing aids will be made by 3D printers.
For small and medium-sized enterprises, the center offers free-of-charge information events, workshops, seminars and trainings. Moreover, the center will carry out well-targeted research and development.
Four partners started the center with 1.2 mio Euro support from the State of Lower Saxony: The Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH), the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover gGmbH (IPH), the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy GmbH and the LZH Laser Akademie GmbH. On October 20th, 2017, the opening event took place in the newly designed showroom of the center at the Hannover Fairgrounds.
