’’I would like to become an inventor’’

IPH | Milad Younesi worked as a mechanical engineer in Iran before his flight to Germany. Just six months after his arrival, the 27 year old is working again in his profession – for the time being as an intern at the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH).

At the IPH, Milad Younesi designs forming tools and assembly robots, simulates forging processes and creates 3D factory layouts. Working in the research institute since early February, he has already assisted half a dozen researchers in their projects.
At Teheran, Younesi studied Mechanical Engineering and worked as a design engineer at the airport. In autumn 2015, he fled to Germany. Within the framework of the programme "Prospects for refugees", he got an internship at the IPH. "Integration requires everybody’s contribution", says Dr. Georg Ullmann, Managing Director of the IPH. "This is why I wanted to give an asylum seeker the chance to gain ground in the German labour market."
Younesi is grateful for the chance. "I like my job, I love working with computers, designing and analyzing with software", he says. When asking him about his plans for the future, he doesn’t have to think twice: "Learning German, studying and working", the 27 year old says. "I would like to become an inventor."
