Dr.-Ing. André Springer followed the call of the University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe to become a professor in the field of production and economics on 1 January 2018. He is responsible for "Digital Manufacturing / Additive Manufacturing with Production Orientation".
In 2007, Dr.-Ing. André Springer started working in the Materials and Processes Department at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH). In 2011, he became the Head of the Joining and Cutting of Metals Group, and received his PhD in 2014 on the subject of "Laser beam welding of the mixed aluminum-copper compound for thermal solar absorbers".
One of his tasks is now to develop a new module in the master program Production and Management. He also plans to initiate application-oriented funding projects to transfer new technologies to regional and national companies.
The new Head of the Joining and Cutting of Metals Group is Dipl.-Ing. Sarah Nothdurft.
