Benjamin Küster appointed manager at IPH

IPH | Manager with 28 years: Benjamin Küster’s professional development proves that scientists working with research institutions can move up the corporate ladder very quickly. As from October 2017, the industrial engineer is heading the division Production Automation at the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH) gGmbH.

At the beginning of 2013, Benjamin Küster came to IPH for a specialized internship. At that time, he was still studying Industrial Engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover. After completion of his internship, he decided to continue his research work as a research student while pursuing his Master studies. In 2014, he wrote his Master thesis on gesture-controlled automated guided vehicles. As from November 2014, Küster worked with IPH as a project engineer – and in October 2017, the 28-year old was appointed Manager Production Automation.
The industrial engineer is now responsible for nine staff members, who are involved in research and development of the automation technology of tomorrow. The team also consults industrial companies with the implementation of automation solutions and the selection of the most suitable storage technology. Benjamin Küster succeeds Dr Björn Eilert, who was working with IPH for almost nine years, the last five years heading the division.
