Collaborative Research Centre presents hybrid components

CRC 1153 | Experts from the Collaborative Research Centre “Tailored Forming“ are developing new methods for the production of hybrid components, combining the advantages of different materials. Around forty technical exhibits will be presented at Hannover Messe taking place from 23 to 27 April.

Hybrid components consist of different materials and combine their material-specific benefits. For example, by combining steel and aluminium, it is possible to produce high-strength components with a light weight. Within the scope of the Collaborative Research Centre 1153, around forty experts from ten different institutes are dealing with the question how to form already joined semi-finished products made of different materials together in a second step.
From 23 to 27 April, about forty hybrid demonstrator components will be presented at Hannover Messe in Hall 2, Stand B08. The exhibits include hybrid bevel gears, bearing sleeves and shafts. Specialists will inform the customers on the exhibits as well as on the challenges and future development potentials.
