For producing companies, it is of great strategic importance to link production planning and control (PPC) processes to predefined logistic objectives. However, companies meet a lot of challenges while designing PPC processes. For example, it is difficult to know which parameter has which influence on logistic objectives, such as stock, throughput time and schedule reliability.
With the Hanoverian Supply Chain Model, IFA has developed a novel reference model describing the cause-effect relationships in a compact manner. On the web page www.hasupmo.education, users may freely navigate through the model, call up various definitions and display further information with a simple mouse click.
Industrial companies can employ the model to analyse, optimize or redesign their PPC processes. Furthermore, the model has already been implemented in lectures held at IFA as well as in workshops organized for specialists and executives.
