Dr.-Ing. Malte Stonis, IPH Managing Director explains to SPD Member of the Bundestag Fahimi how IPH’s research is a contribution to shape the changing working world of tomorrow. He underlines the high potential of digitalisation in making workplaces safer and integrating low-skilled workers into the labour market. In assembly technology, IPH is currently developing a camera-based evaluation system which automatically identifies non-ergonomic movements in the assembly process and proposes alternative handling procedures. With the help of projections, virtual assistants could also propose work instructions.
Fahimi, Member of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment, says that she got a good idea of how the work looks like at the interface of academia and industry. She regards the Zuse Foundation as an important institution in the German research landscape.
