Professor Peter Nyhuis assumed a new office on the 1st of July 2020: As Dean he heads the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Leibniz University Hannover and represents it. The dean’s Office is responsible for the administration of the entire faculty, personnel and budget funds, rooms and buildings, as well as the organisation and of doctoral and post-doctoral studies.
Professor Peter Nyhuis, born in 1957, has been familiar with the Leibniz University Hannover for many decades. He studied mechanical engineering here from 1978 to 1984 and subsequently worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics (IFA). He received his doctorate under Professor Hans-Peter Wiendahl in 1991 and completed his habilitation in 1999 for the field of production logistics. Nyhuis then left the Leibniz University Hannover and moved into industry: For several years he worked as a manager in the field of supply chain management in the electronics and mechanical engineering industries.
Since 2003, Professor Nyhuis has been head of the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics (IFA) at Leibniz University Hannover. In 2008 he also took over the function of a managing partner of the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH) gGmbH.
