In this issue, particular attention is devoted to lightweight design. We explain how fibre composite parts can be joined by laser welding and how a new kind of steel reduces the weight of engine parts. Future sensors might be capable of being integrated into paper – a lightweight but also renewable material. 

Of course, lightweight design is not the only topic of this newsletter.
