IPH/IFA | The practical seminar “Factory Planning“, taking place on 30 and 31 August 2016, provides specialists and executive managers of production-related companies with all need-to-know information about the planning of a sustainable factory. The presentations and workshops impart practice-oriented fundamentals of factory planning.

LZH | Dr.-Ing. Rüdiger Brockmann was appointed to join the industrial advisory board of the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH). He takes over this honorary position from Andreas Conzelmann, both work for the TRUMPF group. The Advisory Board supports the technology transfer from science to industry.

IFUM/IZFP | Hot stamping of car body parts sometimes causes the formation of cracks. Up to now, there has been a lack of testing methods which are suitable for an early detection of part failures. Engineers of IFUM and IZFP are currently working on appropriate methods and strategies to avoid crack formation.

LZH | Additive manufacturing processes at the micro-scale open the doors for new approaches in medical technology to produce implants. The Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) develops processes for the manufacturing of platinum, nickel-titanium (NiTi) and stainless steel.

IFW | With the help of tailored step tools, multi-step holes can be drilled in a single step. This saves time. On the other hand, the tool design is very complex. IFW and specialists from industry are working on an automated solution.

IW | Similar to traditional magnetic stripe cash cards, future storage of information shall also be possible on wear-resistant coatings. Based on this principle, the aim of the Institute of Materials Science (IW) is to develop a durable alternative to RFID tags and barcodes.

PZH/IPH | At Hannover Messe, the Industry 4.0 Competence Centre Hannover “Mit uns digital! Das Zentrum für Niedersachsen und Bremen” presents know-how for small and medium-sized enterprises in Lower Saxony. In Pavilion 36, the Robotation Academy hosts an interactive learning platform where visitors can discover a networked digital factory.
