match | Four-legged newcomer to the Institute of Assembly Technology (match): Boston Dynamics’ agile robotic dog is a versatile mobile platform that can climb stairs, stand up after a fall, navigate rough terrain, carry objects and even open doors.

LZH | On 1 and 2 December 2021, the next Workshop on Laser Processing of Glass Materials will take place. The Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) and the Bayerische Laserzentrum GmbH (blz) will bring together experts from research and industry for an intensive exchange. The event language is German.

IPH | How do we manage to leave the smallest possible ecological footprint with our work? IPH employees have been asking themselves this question for several years. The institute has declared sustainability to be a corporate goal, has already implemented a number of measures and is planning further ones.

IFW | IPH | LZH | This year, the Hannover Messe is taking place as a digital event. The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Hannover and the IPH are each present with a digital booth. Niedersachsen ADDITIV is represented at the joint stand of the state of Lower Saxony.

IPH | The goal is to build recycling loops for 3D printing: Scientists at the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH) gGmbH are researching process steps for obtaining and processing recycled plastic materials.

IKK | Plastic has a bad reputation. Yet plastic can be recycled like almost no other material. Recycling and other innovative solutions for more sustainable plastic products will be the topic of the WIP Annual Forum on June 16, 2021.

LZH | At the beginning of the year 2021, Professor Dr.-Ing. Ludger Overmeyer has taken over the presidency of the German Scientific Laser Society (WLT). Professor Overmeyer is a member of the Board of Directors of the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) and Chairman of its Scientific Directorate.

GREAN | At the beginning of 2020, GREAN GmbH surveyed manufacturing companies about the impact of the Corona crisis. It repeated this study in the winter to answer various questions: What has changed in manufacturing since then? What issues will be important to companies in the future?

IKK | How can textiles be recycled sustainably? The Institute of Plastics and Circular Economy (IKK) at Leibniz University Hannover is investigating this question – and is planning joint research activities with the fashion company Gerry Weber to this end.
