IFA/IPH | In October, professionals and managerial staff will have the opportunity to learn the basics of how to build a new factory or how to expand or reorganise their existing one. In the practical seminar “Factory Planning“, experts will impart comprehensive knowledge which can be applied by the workshop participants immediately.
ITA | Researchers of the Institute of Transportation and Automation Technology (ITA) are currently investigating an automatable method for splice preparation of steel cord conveyor belts. Instead of using numerous manual cutting processes, steel cords shall be stripped using water jet technology – a quicker and more precise solution.
IFW | Smooth and immaculate: Aesthetics has top priority when constructing a mega yacht. Particularly the surface symbolizes the value of a yacht. Therefore, the coating process is of great importance. IFW researchers are currently working on how to improve the process.
match | In motorsports, ultra lightweight vehicle body components made of organosheets are already in use. But for now, they are not applicable to large-batch production, since state-of-the-art robots used in the production process are not yet able to handle the dimensionally unstable material. To cope with this drawback, match does research on a novel gripping technology.
IFA | There are plenty of training programmes on the market. But how do employers select the most suitable training course for their workers? Researchers from Hanover have developed a questionnaire which helps make the proper choice. Moreover, they are developing virtual reality learning concepts.
IPH/PZH | A bus rebuilt as factory is presently touring across Lower Saxony and Bremen. The goal: getting small enterprises informed on Industry 4.0. The free roadshows are organized by “Mit uns digital!”. Until the end of 2017, there will be another eleven tours.
IFUM | Research across borders: Aleksandr Zaitsev is working as visiting scientist at the Institute of Forming Technology and Machines (IFUM). The focus of the PhD student from Saint Petersburg is on the simulation of a thermo-mechanical forming process.
LZH/PZH | Fascinating science: The future career days at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) and at the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH) were again booked out early. The students were amazed to learn how to look inside a finger nail with a laser and how to construct grippers.
