IW | “Different appearances of metal“: This is the title of a photo exhibition in East Friesland, Germany, organized by the Institute of Materials Science (IW) of Leibniz Universität Hannover. The pictures have been created by five employees working in the metallography sector of the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH).

IPH/LZH | Forging undercuts, additive manufacturing, underwater laser cutting and integrating sensors: This can be done with the tools presented by the IPH and LZH at the Hannover Messe 2017. From 24 to 28 April 2017, they will be presenting their research findings in hall 2.

IFUM | Determining the energy efficiency of presses is a very complex and time-consuming process. Since efficiency depends on the forming process, experiments with different tools are necessary. Researchers at IFUM seek for a solution: They are developing a device which is able to model various processes.
- Research
IW | In fuel cells, water-cooled bipolar plates function as current collector, gas distributor and serve for heat control. To make their production more cost-efficient, researchers of Leibniz Universität Hannover and TU Chemnitz have developed a new method.

IFW | Jobs in production industry become more and more sophisticated, while it is difficult to find qualified staff. For this reason, enterprises have to promote their employees systematically – making sure that experienced staff members impart their knowledge to their colleagues. IFW wants to help them meeting this challenge.
